Summary
Clinical laboratories move claims and results through decades-old EDI formats, where a malformed transaction means a rejected claim and delayed payment. For Labcorp, I built backend services around X12/EDI transaction processing and validation.
The problem
Healthcare claims travel as X12 EDI transactions. At laboratory scale, malformed or non-compliant transactions become rejected claims, manual rework, and delayed revenue — validation has to happen systematically, before submission, not in a clearinghouse rejection report afterwards.
What I did
Built processing services for X12/EDI healthcare transactions.
Developed validation services that check transactions against format and payer rules before submission.
Worked on the backend infrastructure supporting these pipelines.
Client name cleared for public use; employer described generically pending clearance. No internal system details are disclosed.
